A key pillar of Make Roads Safe Hella’s action is to support evidence-based interventions for the reduction of road deaths and injuries.
Our scientific staff and partners support public and private institutions, in Greece and abroad, for the design and implementation of scientific studies and research in the fields of:
- road safety management;
- collecting and analysing road safety data;
- road infrastructure safety;
- vehicle safety;
- safety and efficient management of the passenger and freight transport;
- training and awareness-raising on road safety;
- driving ability and behaviour;
- enforcement of traffic law;
- post-crash response.
Recent Activity
- Country Report: International tourism and Road Safety in Greece
- Road safety assessments in 14 S.E. Europe countries
- Participation in an international expert group of EASST and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to upgrade the security of collection companies and waste management in Tbilisi, Georgia.
- Support of the “Partnership for Road Safety” NGO in Georgia to implement a country level study that investigates tourism and road safety.
- Support of the “Young Generation of Tajikistan” NGO for the implementation of surveys on road safety and transport in 17 rural areas of Tajikistan.
- Pilot survey about the use of children’s seats in Greece, in collaboration with the University of Macedonia.
